Obituary

ROY D. CHRISTIANSON, 84, of 600 Graham Ave., died Thursday, September 10, 1998 at Luther Hospital. He was born October 9, 1913 in Chippewa Falls to Clarence and Minnie (Bronstad) Christianson. He graduated from Chippewa Fall High School with the class of 1932. Roy married LaVina A. (Erickson) Hoff on July 30, 1966 in Cornell.\r\nHe served with the United States 8th Airforce, in the European Theater, during W.W.II until his honorable discharge in 1945.\r\nHe was pipe fitter for 30 years with Sterling Brown which later became Pope&Talbot until his retirement in 1976. \r\nRoy was a member of VFW Post #7232, and Pope and Sulfite Local #42 where he served as its President for many years. \r\nSurvivors include his wife, LaVina; a step-son, John Hoff of Mpls,MN; two step-grandsons, Johan (Samatha) Hoff and Erik Hoff; a step-granddaughter, Kristen Hoff; a step-great-grandson, Noah all of Mpls.,MN; a sister-in-law, Mabel (John E.) Quinlan of Eau Claire; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Leonard and an infant, Carl.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where VFW Post # 305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to the Hunger or World Service Funds at Grace Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice.
