ROY A. SATHER, 78, of 3020 6th St., died Friday, December 26, 1997 at Luther Hospital, as the result of a heart attack. He was born October 27,1919, in Niagara, ND, to Anton and Hannah (Ellertson) Sather. Roy grew up in the Township of Drammen, and married Verna DeLander October 20, 1945 in Woodville.\r\nRoy delivered for Peters Meats for twenty-seven years. Later, he became custodian for Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd until his retirement in 1982.\r\nSurvivors include his wife Verna; two daughters: Judith (David) Jacobs of Eau Claire, and Nancy (James) Schemensky of Greenwood; two sons: David (Deborah) Sather of Eau Claire, and Richard (Karen) Sather of Duluth, MN; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; two sisters: Iva Wittwer of Eau Claire, Irene Sieg of Altoona; and a brother-in-law, Norman Johnson of Eau Claire. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lila Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd, with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery. \r\nFriends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
