Obituary

Rudolph "Rudy" E. Gunderson, 86, of Eau Claire, died Monday, September 24, 2001 at his home with hospice care. He was born on May 11, 1915 to Marius and Pauline (Holstad) Gunderson in the Town of Hale, Trempealeau County. \r\nRudy lived and farmed in the town of Hale until retiring in 1972 when he moved to Eau Claire. He was a lifetime member of Chimney Rock Lutheran Church.\r\nHe is survived by two sisters, Borghild Gunderson of Eau Claire and Hazel Babcock of Delevan; a sister-in-law, Mabel Gunderson of Strum; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nRudy was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Morton, Reuben and Thomas Gunderson; and two sisters, Ruth Wraalstad and Mayme Schulenberg.\r\nServices will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2001 at Chimney Rock Lutheran Church in the town of Chimney Rock, rural Strum, with Pastor Ted Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Chimney Rock Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
