Rudolph "Rudy" S. Thompson, 91, formerly of 3415 Hallie Lane, Eau Claire, died Friday, June 6, 2003 at Syverson Lutheran Home. He was born in Buxton, North Dakota on January 17, 1912, the son of Tobias and Julia (Swenson) Thompson. Rudy moved to Eau Claire as a young man, where his brother and sisters also made their home here. He was a carpenter working for Market and Johnson until his retirement. \r\nSurvivors include a brother, Nanian (Audrey) of Eau Claire; three sisters, Mable Gruhlke and Ethel (James) Johnson both of Eau Claire and Adeline Rauk of San Diego, CA; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nRudy was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Albert, Willard and Tilman Thompson; three sisters, Selma Larson, Anna Thompson and Lilah Nelson; four half-brothers, Henry, Gilbert, Arthur and Tracey Thompson; and four half-sisters, Hilda Thompson, Othelia Aamodt, Magda Rasmussen and Anna Thompson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Reverend Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the town of Washington. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to services Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home.
