Russell J. Aylieff, 66, of Eau Claire, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehab in Eau Claire. Russell was born in Eau Claire on September 24, 1946, to Norman and Betty (Kratts) Aylieff. He graduated from North High School with the Class of 1964. On June 28, 1975, Russell married Lula Nesja in Eau Claire, and together they raised two children. He was the owner and operator of Transport Garage in Altoona for over 30 years. Russell enjoyed fishing, boating, taking meandering drives, and his cats and dogs. He is survived by his wife, Lula; two sons, James and Michael; one sister, Mary (Bud) Kunshier; mother-in-law, Olive Nesja; and also by other relatives and friends. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patty and Jean, father-in-law, Ole Nesja; two sisters-in-law, Sena Girard and Priscilla Jackson; and one brother-in-law, John Nesja. A public visitation will be held from 4 to 7p.m., on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., in Eau Claire.
