Russell James Dahl, 25, of Eau Claire died December 5, 2007.\r\nHere was a man who with his strong hand could brandish a hockey stick, scoring a goal and leading his Sauk Rapids, Minnesota team to their first state tournament.\r\nHere was a man who with his quick arm could field a fast hit and throw out a runner at first in the flash of an eye.\r\nHere was a man who with father by side and bow in hand would hunt the woods of Northern Minnesota.\r\nHere was a man who with his quick wit could make even the most solemn faced Midwesterner give out a grin.\r\nHere was a man who with his love of children could play catch with the next door neighbor boy for hours.\r\nHere was a man who appreciated music from the folk songs of Ireland to the Rock ballads of America.\r\nHere was a man who used his hand and head to write beautiful poetry.\r\nHere was a man who loved his family and his friends\r\nBut mostly, here was a young man who had so much&gave so much and will be greatly missed.\r\nRuss...you will be in our hearts forever!\r\nRussell "Rusty" James Dahl was born June 5, 1982 in St. Cloud, Minnesota. He graduated from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School in 2000. He then attended school at Central Lakes Community College in Brainerd, Minnesota. In 2006 Rusty moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. \r\nRusty is survived by mother, Victoria (Dahl) Lieske of Eau Claire, WI; step-father, Robert Lieske, Eau Claire, WI; brother, Robert Dahl of Rochester, MN; sister, Alyson Dahl of Minneapolis; many extended family members and friends. \r\nHe is preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Dahl and grandmother, Meredith (Hankey) Dahl. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2007, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire, WI. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Following the service there will be a social from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dooley's Irish Pub on Water Street in Eau Claire, WI.
