Russell C. Herrem, 87, of Eau Claire died Friday, October 14, 2005, at Dove Healthcare.He was born in Eau Claire on November 14, 1917, the son of Kristian and Anna (Erickson) Herrem.\r\nHe served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre.\r\nHe married Eileen F. Peterson in Eau Claire on February 12, 1947.\r\nHe worked 35 years at Uniroyal until his retirement in 1974, and also worked part-time many years at Stolp Appliance repairing televisions.\r\nOver the years Russell enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and picnics with his family.\r\nSurvivors include his three sons, Richard (Nancy) Goodyear, AZ, Russell A. (Sallie) of Altoona, and Allen (Audrey) of Pleasant Prairie; daughter, Connie (Michael) Linberg of Elk Mound; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael and Teresa Herrem, and Joshua, Nicole, and Samantha Linberg; a great granddaughter, Hannah Herrem; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen in January this year; his parents; three brothers Lawrence, Joseph and Walter; and six sisters, Agnes Schultz, Alice Smith, Emma McDonald, Gladys Shranklin, Beatrice Zielie, and Verna Grotefend.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2005, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal A. Schroetter officiating. Family and friends may call from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire. \r\n \r\n
