Obituary

Russell O. Molnaa, 81, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, March 2, 2004 at Dove Healthcare Nursing Home. He was born on February 9, 1923 in Washburn, WI, the son of Arthur and Bertha (Flottum) Molnaa. He attended school in the Washburn area.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army as an E4 during World War II serving in Germany from 1943 to 1945.\r\nRussell worked at Du Pont before serving in the army and then moved to Eau Claire in 1946 and began work at the Gillette Company (Uniroyal). Russell retired in 1984 after 38 ½ years of service. After retirement, he delivered meals on wheels for 15 years serving them until December 2003.\r\nHe was on the Uniroyal bowling team for several years. He was an avid dancer and enjoyed playing cards with his buddies.\r\nRussell was a member of V.F.W. Post #305 and Local Rubber Workers #19.\r\nRussell married Nadine Ardyce Fisher in April of 1960 in Washburn, WI. Nadine passed away in 1969.\r\nSurvivors include his two daughters, Ruth (Michael) Lewis of Sacramento, CA and Anna Molnaa of Racine, WI; step-daughter, Bonnie (Rick) Badman of Eau Claire; step-son, Joseph (Nancy Stenseth) Nemec of Altoona; six grandchildren, Zachary, Christiana, Hilary, Autumn, Amber and Lance. Russell is also survived by Marie Molnaa of Eau Claire and her family.\r\nHe was also preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Mary Molnaa; and his loving friend and companion, Fran Davis.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2004 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor Paul D. L. Oppedahl officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery where V.F.W. Post #305 will conduct military rites. Friends and family may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
