Obituary

RUTH A. EVERSON, 86, 1117 Agnes St., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 23, 1997. She had been residing at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.\r\nShe was born August 28, 1910 to Anton and Hannah (Amundson) Gullicksrud in Strum. Ruth graduated from Osseo High School in 1930 and then attended the Eau Claire Business College. On August 2, 1941, she married Raymond A. Everson in Eau Claire. They resided in Eau Claire for awhile until a move to Madison and later to Boscobel. Eventually, she and Ray came to make their home in Eau Claire again.\r\nRuth was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and a long-time member of the Tuesday Morning Bible Study. She loved quilting and knitting caps for new-born infants at Luther Hospital. \r\nSurvivors include two sons, Ronald (Patricia) of Marshfield, and Larry of Eau Claire; two grandchildren, Glenn of Marshfield, and Kimberly (Shane) Bell of Wausau; two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Micah; two sisters, Helen Gullicksrud of Eau Claire, and Viola Laird of Chippewa Falls; two sisters-in-law, Vernie Gullicksrud of Strum and Ilene Sunday of Eau Claire.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1987; her parents; two brothers, Genhard,and Nordahl; and a sister, Thelma Kinderman.\r\nFuneral services will be 11a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, withPastor Ned S. Lenhart officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.\r\nThe family suggests memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church.
