Ruth I. Flynn, 78, of Eau Claire, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 22, 2003 at Luther Hospital. She was born in Eau Claire on July 1, 1924, the daughter of Dr. Leo and Isabelle (Larson) Flynn. \r\nRuth earned a four-year degree in education from the Eau Claire State Teacher's College in 1945. She taught kindergarten at Lincoln Elementary for 40 years, retiring in June 1986.\r\nShe was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority and the Eau Claire Retired Educator's Association. \r\nSurvivors include her sister, Mary (Flynn) Tainter of Eau Claire; a niece, Mary Beth (David) Lichtor; and two great nephews, Peter and Brian Lichtor, all of St. Paul, MN.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery.
