Obituary

Ruth A. Kremer, 70, of Foster and formerly of Eau Claire, died Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Luther Hospital. She was born in the town of Naples, Buffalo County, on January 16, 1934, the daughter of Hugo and Florence (Barsness) Koepp. Ruth graduated as valedictorian from Mondovi High School with the class of 1952. During high school, she was very involved in school activities. She served as class vice president, on the yearbook, "Mirror" committee, school paper, amongst many other activities.\r\nRuth married Merle Larson on January 3, 1953, in Mondovi. She married Robert O. Kremer on September 16, 1960, in Eau Claire.\r\nRuth was very busy with traditional family activities, work, and her love for her hobbies, flowers, birds, and gardening, besides being a loving wife and mother. She was always there with an open heart; kind and guiding words. She will be greatly missed.\r\nShe worked as a secretary at Christ Church Cathedral, H&R Block and Bertelson. Ruth was a member of First Lutheran Church where she served on the AAL Board and other volunteer activities.\r\nSurvivors include her two sons, David (Grace) of San Diego, and Jeffrey (Barbara) Larson of Eau Claire; five daughters, Debra (John) Haasl of Waupaca, Dawn Salter of Altoona, Cynthia Lahner of Osseo, Kelley (Delvin) Balts, and Sheri Kremer both of Eau Claire; seventeen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sherwood "Bud" (Carol) Koepp of Harlingen,TX and William "Bill" (Benjy) Koepp of Hudson; sister, Shirley (Joe) Schneider of Mondovi; her loving companion of many years, Marcel Thoma of Foster; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nRuth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 1988; and a sister, Doris May Koepp.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004, at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703.\r\n
