Ruth I. Larson, 101, formerly of 704 Folsom St. and St. Johns Apts., Eau Claire, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born on April 8, 1904, in rural Taylor, Jackson County, WI, the daughter of Julius and Clara (Kolden) Johnson. Ruth married Jule E. Larson on April 18, 1923 and resided in Eau Claire most of her adult life. \r\nShe was employed at the Ordinance Plant during World War II. Ruth later worked at the former Incani Nursing Home, and J.C. Penny alterations department. \r\nShe was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school, and served as chairman of her circle and president of the Ladies Aid.\r\nSurvivors include three sons, Merlin and Lester of Eau Claire, Clayton (Ruth) of Sarona, WI; daughter, Joan (Ed) Schmidt of Danbury, WI; daughter-in-law, Elsie Larson of Eau Claire; eighteen grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren; twenty great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Jule; a son, Willard; two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Betty Larson; three grandchildren, John, Rhonda, and Ellen Larson; and eleven brothers and sisters.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2005, at First Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington.
