Ruth M. Lehman, 86, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2009, under the care of Northwest Hospice at Heritage Court in Eau Claire. \r\nRuth was born September 10, 1922, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Waldemar W. and Stella (Kilboten) Lehman. After graduating from Eau Claire High School in 1939, she attended the Eau Claire Teachers College for four years, graduating in 1943 with a B.S. Degree in Education. She then taught commercial subjects in secondary schools in Humbird, Augusta, and Wisconsin Dells.\r\nIn 1950, she left teaching, moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the FBI in a secretarial capacity for one and a half years. She then transferred to the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, D.C. where she remained until retirement in December 1979, attaining the position of Intelligence officer.\r\nAfter retirement, she returned to Eau Claire to live with her brother, Tom. She became a volunteer for the Sacred Heart Auxiliary for several years, and enjoyed bridge, bowling, golfing and watching the Green Bay Packers.\r\nRuth is survived by a former sister-in-law, Ruth Lehman-Bremmer, and several cousins. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wally and Thomas R. Lehman.\r\nFuneral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Christ Church Cathedral with The Very Rev'd Robert L. Rademaker officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services, Wednesday, at the church.\r\nThe family requests memorials in Ruth's name be made to the Elevator Fund at Christ Church Cathedral, 510 S. Farwell St., Eau Claire, WI 54701.\r\n
