RUTH E. WEST, age 77, of 3136 Venus Ave., died Friday, March 10, 2000 at her home. She was born on October 8, 1922 to Engwald and Julia (Brian) Hoiensahl in Eau Claire. Ruth graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1939, and attended the Eau Claire Vocational School. On May 2, 1953, Ruth married Cecil W. West at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She worked in the office at Uniroyal from 1941 - 1955, until her first child was born. \r\nRuth was a member of the original Badger Femmes bowling league and the Royaleers Club at Uniroyal. She served as a volunteer at the Syverson Lutheran Home. There were a variety of card clubs Ruth participated in. \r\nSurvivors include her husband Cecil; son, Craig (Susan); daughter, Julie Mentch; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Emily Mentch, all of Eau Claire. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Henry. \r\nFuneral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services, Monday at the church. \r\nFamily suggests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society, 2427 N.
