Sam F. Dean, 81, of Eau Claire died Friday, August 13, 2010, at his home. He was born in Greenville, Alabama on August 25, 1928, the son of Sam and Exa (Foster) Dean.\r\nHe served in the U.S. Army from October 19, 1950, until his honorable discharge in October 1952\r\nSam married Jean J. Weiker on June 20, 1953, at St. Johns Reformed United Church of Christ in LaCrosse. \r\nSam started working in sales for NSP in 1952, and their Marketing Department from 1969 until his retirement in 1988.\r\nHe was a member of Plymouth United Congregational Church of Christ in Eau Claire\r\nSam is survived by Jean, his wife of 57 years; daughter, Jacqueline (Gary) Reich of Chippewa Falls and their children, John and Laura; son, Jeffrey (Karen Harder) Dean of Fort Collins, CO, and their children, Rachel and Erin; his sister, Laurice (Winfred) Boan of Greenville, AL; and three nephews, Alan, Barry, and Dean Boan. \r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire with the Rev. Barry Boyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in LaCrosse, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
