SAMUEL "SAM" ROBERT STAGLIANO, age 66, of Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He was born on August 12, 1934 in Eau Claire to the late Joseph and Blanche (Metherell) Stagliano. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1952, where he enjoyed playing drums in the band. Sam served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956, stationed for most of that time in Tripoli, Libya. He was a member of the USAF band.\r\nSam married Arlene M. Meyer on August 24, 1957 in Eau Claire. They lived in Eau Claire until her death in 1989.\r\nSam sold insurance in the Eau Claire area for several years before working and retiring after many years from Uniroyal. \r\nHe was active in many community groups including: Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree Bishop Fulton J. Sheen Assembly, John F. Kennedy Council #1257, Eau Claire Rod and Gun Club, the Chippewa Rod and Gun Club, Eau Claire Moose Lodge #1408, First Wisconsin Chapter Muskies Inc., Sacred Heart Church and past member of the Eau Claire Jaycees.\r\nSam was an avid Packer fan and enjoyed many hobbies including making homemade wine, photography, fishing, hunting and trap shooting.\r\nHe is survived by four sons, Samuel J (Cheryl) of Eau Claire, Tony (Rhonda) of Monroe, WI, Scott (Denise) of Eau Claire, and Thomas (Dawn) of Cadott; his fiancée, Margaret Pritchard of Chippewa Falls; nine grandchildren, Samantha, Kevin, Kayla, Stacy, Abbie, Jessy, Trista, Shae and Shaw; a brother, James J. Stagliano of Kenosha; a sister, Julia (Richard) Gladwell of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law, Maurita (Anthony) Marnell, Mary Ann (William) Klemke; brothers-in-law, Sylvan (Sachiko) Meyer, Herman (Diane) Meyer and several nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; and his parents.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 10 am. Saturday, October 28, 2000 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eau Claire. Burial will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery, Eau Claire where VFW Post #305 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church. There will be a public and Knights of Columbus Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
