Obituary

Scott Holman, age 50, of Eau Claire, died at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN, on Friday, February 21, 2014, with his family by his side. He was born on October 26, 1963, in Ladysmith WI, to Pug and Donna (Phetteplace) Holman. Scott graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1981. He then attended college graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Scott met the love of his life, Karen, and they were married in 1987. The two of them shared 26 amazing years together and were blessed with four wonderful children. Scott was employed at Praxair, a gas and welding supply company, for 21 years. Scott was a devoted family man who always put family first. He liked to take many family vacations. His favorite vacation spot was a cabin on Long Lake where the family enjoyed fishing, water sports, and beautiful sunsets. Another one of his favorite activities was to attend his children's various sporting events, and he got the chance to coach all four of them throughout the years. Scott was a diehard Packers fan and enjoyed watching games both at Lambeau Field and at home. When he wasn't watching games, Scott was quite the handyman as well. Over the years he completed many home improvement projects. Scott is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karen; children, Kayley (fiancé, Corey Adams), Buzz (fiancée, Becca Jacobson), Jesse and Brock; parents, Pug and Donna Holman; sister, Lynette (Brad) Holman; along with aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, at Hope Lutheran Church, 2226 Eddy Lane, Eau Claire, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at church. Pastor Richard Lund will be officiating. Scott was an advocate of Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry.
