Obituary

Shirley A. Gifford, 75, of Eau Claire, died February 25, 2010, at Sacred Heart Hospital surrounded by her loving family.\r\nShe was born in the Town of Peru, Dunn County, WI on July 29, 1934, a daughter of George and Severina (Wallum) Schulner. \r\nShe married DeWayne Gifford on April 20, 1957, at Plum City Methodist Church, in Plum City, WI. \r\nShirley worked for Gordon Brothers Masonary as a bookkeeper, in later years went to work at the Honor Shoppe until her retirement.\r\nShe will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother to her children and was loved by all who knew her.\r\nShirley was a member of Lake St. United Methodist Church in Eau Claire. She enjoyed knitting, and embroidering, playing cards in her card group with friends and family. She loved her casino trips with her brother, sisters, and niece, and also enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.\r\nShirley is survived by her husband, DeWayne; four children, Richard (Renee) Gifford of Elk Mound, Karen (Scott) Bruhn of West DesMoines, IA, David (Laura) Gifford of Rice Lake, Kathy (Jon) Klohs of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Marcus (Beth) Severson, Rheanna Severson, Adam Gifford, Eric Bruhn, Ashley Bruhn, Nicole Bruhn, Joshua (Carly) Gifford, Andrew Gifford, Zachary Gifford, Elizabeth Gifford, Jason Klohs, and Kevin Klohs; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, George (Evelyn) Schulner; sisters, Donna (Don) Franzwa, Betty (Bill) Wolf; sister-in-law, Carol Schulner; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lois Markman; and a brother John Schulner. \r\nFuneral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Lake St. United Methodist Church in Eau Claire with Rev. Cathy Hamblin officiating. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010, at Lenmark- Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. \r\nThe family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all the doctors, nurses and staff for the excellent care and compassion that was provided to Shirley and her family.
