SIGNE O. EGGEN, 94, of 2408 Robert Rd., died Monday, May 1, 2000, at Dove Healthcare Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on July 11, 1905 in Eau Claire to Carl and Sigrid (Kassen) Eggen. \r\nSigne graduated as a registered nurse from Luther Hospital School of Nursing in 1928 and worked there until here retirement in 1976. While working at Luther Hospital she returned to school and received training as a nurse anesthetist.\r\nShe was a member of First Lutheran Church, and the Luther Hospital Alumni Association.\r\nSigne was proud of her Norwegian Heritage and traveled to Norway and maintained contact with her relatives. \r\nSurvivors include a sister-in-law, Lucille Eggen of Eau Claire; close friend, Gudrun Bergh of Eau Claire and many cousins including Geline Trenne of Battle Lake, MN, Grace (Irving) Brenden and Millard (Jean) Sivertson both of Elk Mound, Sidney (Verna) Sivertson of Grand Forks, ND, Olaf Stensas of Melhus, Norway, Lena Tommaros and Borghild Aasveien both of Trondheim, Norway, and Kjellrun Reitan of Kongsvinger, Norway.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jule and Edwin Eggen; and a sister, Gunda Eggen.\r\nA memorial service for Signe will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Duane C. Pederson officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. \r\nAt Signe's request memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church or Luther Hospital Alumni Association.
