Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 KJV "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die" Stanley Robert "Stan" Semingson was born March 1, 1928 in Eau Claire to Magnus and Mary (Zurek) Semingson. He died August 4, 2015 at Syverson Home/ Mayo Luther. Stan was a lifelong resident of Eau Claire. He married Alice Mattison on November 22, 1952 at Grace Lutheran Church. After graduating high school, Stan worked for a time at the old Hotel Eau Claire. He joined the US Army and was stationed in Korea during the conflict. After discharge, he returned to Eau Claire and worked at Benson Optical for many years. After retirement, he was a courier for Eau Claire County. Stan had a love for baseball, playing for many years, coaching Little League and served as President of EC Little League. He was a big Packer Fan, he loved working in his shop behind the house, deer hunting and fishing. He will forever be in his favorite deer stand. Stan served on the EC Board of Supervisors for many years. He was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he served God by teaching Sunday school for many years, showing numerous young people to serve the Lord he loved so much. Stan is now reunited in his forever home with his parents, Magnus and Mary, his father and mother-in-law, Chris and Emma Mattison, sister, Arlen, brothers, Percy and Marshall (Doris) and Larry, 4 brothers-in-law, Chet, Charlie, Bob and Orvin Mattison Stan is survived by his loving wife, Alice and their three sons; Bruce (Pam), Rick (Vicki) and John (Mary). Also survived by 5 grandchildren; Jackie Semingson, Sara (Ryan) Thurston, Brian Semingson, Amber Bakeman and Luke Semingson; 4 great-grandchildren, Mason, Emma, Brayden and Evan Thurston. Further survived by one sister, Lorraine (Wes) Anderson of MN and two brothers, Merill (Sherry) and Duane (Dewey) of Eau Claire, 3 sisters-in-law; Mary Francis Semingson of Texas, Mariel (Al) Gould and Deloris (Ron) Huse of EC and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 am, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Saving Grace Lutheran Church, 2124 Eastridge Center in Eau Claire, with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at Rest Haven Gardens. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire is serving the family.
