Stephen Cermak III, 57, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 7, 1955, to Stephen and Barbara (Davis) Cermak, in Peoria, IL. Growing up, his family moved often and he lived in Indiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Steve graduated from the University of Minnesota with degree in mechanical engineering and was a licensed professional engineer. He started his career at Control Data and then worked for Cray Research, SGI, and Rex Systems. Most recently, he was employed at TSI in Minnesota. Over his career, he was awarded 11 patents. Steve was always willing and enjoyed helping friends, fix anything from computers to engines. Steve was an avid golfer and played in many CVGA tournaments. He also liked to fish and keep up his beautiful yard. Steve married Nancy Nelson in 1985. Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Barbara Cermak; sister, Cheryl (Jim) Faulkner; and niece, Jaclyn (John) Chaffee; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Suite #100, Altoona, WI 54720-2589 Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2013, at St. Charles of Borromeo Catholic Church, 810 Pearl St. in Chippewa Falls, WI, with the Very Rev. Edward Shuttleworth officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery in Eau Claire. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is serving his family.
