Steven W. Hotchkiss, age 67, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona, WI. Steven was born in Eau Claire on September 9, 1945, to Lyman D. and Jeanette E. (Stone) Hotchkiss. He married Sharon J. Johnson on February 9, 1974, at First Lutheran Church, in Eau Claire. Steven served in the U.S. Army from July 1964 until his honorable discharge in 1967. Steven worked as a firefighter for the City of Eau Claire until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #53, the Fire Fighters Local 487, and the Minnesota Street Rod Association. Steven is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sharon; son, Charles (Vickie) Hotchkiss of North Mankato, MN; sister, Karen (Butch) Button of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Susan (Frank) Fedor; nieces and nephews, Gene (Molly) Button, Penny (Jeff) Webber, Don (Shelly) Button, Tony (Cathy) Button, Jeff (Missy) Fedor and Greg (Nicole) Fedor; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Dale Hotchkiss. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave., Eau Claire. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2012, at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road, Eau Claire, with Rev. Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be in the Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire with Military Honors conducted by the American Legion Post #53.
