Steven Erick Johnson, 57, of Chippewa Falls, passed away Friday, November 9, 2007, at Luther Hospital with his family at his side.\r\nHe was born in Eau Claire on November 25, 1949, son of Thorwald and Adeline (Stevens) Johnson. He graduated from Altoona High School, class of 1968.\r\nHe served two years in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1969.\r\nSteve married Kristine K. Stewart in Eau Claire on January 5, 1972,\r\nHe worked 12 years for Pope and Talbot in Eau Claire.\r\nHe was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.\r\nSteve enjoyed both gun and bow hunting, and had a love for classic cars, owning and restoring an award winning 58' Chevy Impala.\r\nSteve is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Kristine; two daughters, Janette (Douglas) Harshman of Chippewa Falls and Melissa (Joe) Schwartz of Tilden, WI; son, Steven Johnson of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, Seager, Hope, Clayton, and Austin; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Stewart of Chippewa Falls; sister, Anne (Lyle) Romundstad of Eau Claire; two brothers, James (Emila) Jacobson of Fall Creek and George (Ione) Jacobson of Eleva; two sisters-in-law, Wendy (Mike) McDonald of Eau Claire and Danette (Brian) Marvin of Colfax; three brothers-in-law, Steven (Kathy) Stewart of Elk Lake, WI, Randy (Darlene) Stewart of Chippewa Falls, and Larry (Julie) Stewart of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Allan Johnson; and sister, Aloydis Lebrec.\r\nLoved by many, Steve touched our lives in a way that cannot be expressed in words, but for those who have had the privilege, we know, and that we thank him for.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with Pastor Roger Benrud officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington where American Legion Post #53 will conduct military honors. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, Eau Claire and one hour prior to services Tuesday at church.
