Susan Jane Forcier went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, where we know she was greeted with, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.\r\nShe was born in Eau Claire on December 27, 1937, to Leo and Corinne (Johnson) Duax. Susan graduated from Eau Claire High School in 1956. She then attended Carlton College in Northfield, MN. She returned to Eau Claire and graduated from UW-Eau Claire with a teaching degree.\r\nSusan met Roger at a high school dance, and they were married on June 10, 1960. They then moved to Racine where Susan taught Kindergarten for three years. Upon returning to Eau Claire she began raising her family.\r\nShe was an active member of the Eau Claire community and a consummate volunteer in several organizations. Susan was President of the Service League, Secretary for the Humane Association, the PTA, and a volunteer at all of her children's school's throughout the grades until each graduated. \r\nSusan was a patriot and loved her country. She was a dedicated, loyal member of the Republican Party where she served for 45 years. She was a leader in the local organization for the past eight years, serving on the Executive Committee. Susan received multiple awards for her leadership and service at the local, district, and state level.\r\nSusan's greatest passion was being a selfless mother and wife. She dedicated her entire life to her family. She was an adoring partner to her husband, Roger, whom she loved deeply. She was always by his side during his business career as a devoted wife. Her greatest joy was her children, whom she always put first. As a devoted mother of four, she spent countless hours driving them to their activities, practices, sporting games, and events. She spent over 30 years attending plays, dances, concerts, games that her children participated in, and never missed one in their entire careers. Her kids would always know mom was there smiling and cheering them on. Susan loved her five grandchildren and was deeply devoted to them. They were her source of great joy and laughter for the past 15 years.\r\nSusan had many interests and passions. She adored all animals great and small, caring for and feeding birds and wildlife. Deer, raccoons, squirrels, birds, and a host of many animals were her backyard and cottage friends, whom she received countless hours of joy from interacting with and observing.\r\nShe was a life long gardener. She planted literally a forest of trees and bushes. She enjoyed her flowers and plants indoors and out. Susan loved the mountain west especially her beloved Grand Teton National Park, where she spent many summers vacationing. She loved being at the lake "the cottage" year round, but especially in the summer. She loved being in the sun, boating and enjoying her family and wildlife.\r\nDuring her life Susan never stopped learning and was an avid student of American History and politics. Susan spent her life loving and caring for her beloved dogs and they loved her back. \r\nSusan was a Christian and lived her faith daily. She gave to all she met and poured her heart out to those in need. She befriended all, served those less fortunate, helped the elderly, special needs, and anyone who needed a hand, smile, or a note of cheer. She wrote thousands of encouraging letters and cards to friends and members of the community expressing her sympathy, gratitude, and love.\r\nWife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and volunteer will be deeply missed.\r\nSusan is survived by her husband, Roger; her four children, Laurie Forcier of Eau Claire; Paul (Jan) Forcier and their children, Cody and Jackson of St. George, UT, Christopher (Andrea) Forcier of Eau Claire and their children Olivia, Ava, and Everett, and Stephanie Forcier of Jackson Hole,WY; her brother, David (Kathy) Duax and sister, Laurie (Jim) Erdman both of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews; and her two Golden Retriever's Chloe and Brandi.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her father Leo, mother Corrine and a daughter, Aimee Forcier.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1812 Lynn Ave., Altoona with Father Norbert Wilger officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass Monday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in honor and memory of Susan Forcier to: White Pine Wildlife Rehab.
