Susanne (Keeton) C. Zuehlke, 75, of Eau Claire died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at Luther Hospital. She was born in Milwaukee on January 9, 1931, the daughter of Walter and Elizabeth (Schneider) Downing.\r\nShe graduated from High School in Ironwood, MI. Following graduation, she married William D. Keeton on June 9, 1950 in Detroit, MI.\r\nWilliam and Susanne had three children together, William Jr., Kathi, and Robert. Throughout their lives they lived in Ironwood and Houghton, MI, and then moving to Eau Claire in 1966. Susanne worked for Consumers Co-Op and Wells Fargo Bank, both in Eau Claire, until her retirement from Wells Fargo after 25 years. William Sr. passed away in April of 1994.\r\nSusanne married Karl R. Zuehlke on June 29, 1996, in Eau Claire at Epiphany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her retirement and traveling with Karl until his death on March 27, 2004.\r\nShe is survived by three children, William (Susan) Keeton Jr. of Eau Claire; Kathi Johnson of Eau Claire; and Robert Keeton of Eau Claire; four grandchildren, William (Katherine) Keeton III, Adam (Katy Kylander) Keeton of Eau Claire, Steven (Stacy) Johnson of Eau Claire, and Kathryn Johnson of Eau Claire; three great grandchildren, Amelia and Abigail Keeton, and Cody Johnson, all of Eau Claire.\r\nSusanne was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, William and Karl; and a great granddaughter, Gwenyth Johnson.\r\nFuneral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Kampfer officiating. Private burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.\r\nHer family would like to extend a special thank you to Northwest Hospice and the staff at Luther Hospital for their care and compassion.\r\n
