Sylvia Agnes Clara Krigsvold Lee, 91, of Elk Mound, WI, died Friday, September 4, 2015, at her residence under the care of Mayo Clinic Health System-Home, Health & Hospice. She was born in the Town of Springbrook, on June 16, 1924, a daughter of Ingebrigt and Mary (Froseth) Krigsvold. Sylvia attended Springbook schools and went to High School at Aggie in Menomonie, WI. She attended Luther Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1946. Sylvia received her nursing, marriage, and driving license all on the same day. Sylvia married Gerald Lee on April 5, 1946, at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. They lived on their 200 acre farm for their 67 years of marriage and she continued to live there until her death. Sylvia began her nursing career at Sacred Heart Hospital, giving 1:1 care for rehabilitation patients. She worked as a nurse in the Army Nurse Corp stationed in Kentucky. Sylvia then returned to Eau Claire and worked at Luther Hospital in roles of staff nurse, assistant director of nursing, ER nurse, surgicenter and Outpatient Nurse. She retired after 47 years of nursing service. Sylvia continued working as a volunteer on Stepforce until 2010. Sylvia, along with her husband volunteered for many organizations which was very important to her. She served on the Wisconsin State High School Rodeo Board for 30 years. She was a volunteer working with the announcer and secretary for the board. She served as a 4-H leader in multiple projects for 55 years, receiving special recognition for her years of dedicated service; Wild Bill Riders volunteer for 37 years; RCU volunteer for 25 years; Mabel Tainter theatre for 20 years; Eau Claire Regional Art Center for 25 years; Shepherd of the Hill church, helped sewing quilts and attended regularly; Luther League adviser for 25 years; and won the Lifetime Achievement Award for State Horse Council and Lifetime Achievement Award as RCU volunteer. Sylvia is survived by her four children, Sharon Berg, Keith (Rita) Lee, all of Elk Mound, Marie (Mark) Witzel of Columbus, WI, and Diane Graham of Hamilton, TX; eight grandchildren, Lynn Muszynski, Kirsten Myers, Nate Lee, Dana Lee-Rye, Mickey Koser, Nicole (Boofy) Mishnick, Kathryn and Sara Witzel; thirteen great-grandchildren, Miranda Carpenter, Tyler Ebel, Joseph Muszynski, Dayne, Cole and Madison Myers, Creo, Amber, Lane, Khloe Lee, Matteo Rye, Toni and Brodi Mishnick; one great-great-grandchild, Sutton Lee Carpenter. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry in 2013; son, Scott; and all of her siblings. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church, 207 University St. in Elk Mound, With Pastor Mary Eide officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at the WEST CHAPEL location of Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 1405 N. Clairemont Ave. in Eau Claire, and again one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire.
