Sylvia Mae Schaaf, age 91, of Eau Claire, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at BeeHive Homes of Eau Claire, surrounded by her family. Sylvia was born on July 7, 1927, in the Town of Hallie, to Holden and Ragna (Malom) Stewart. Sylvia graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the Class of 1945. She then attended Eau Claire Teacher's College. She married Robert "Pinky" Schaaf in 1948 in Stillwater, MN. They have been married for 70 years. She enjoyed biking, golfing, traveling to Colorado in the summertime and Florida in the winter. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed by all who loved her. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob/Pinky"; children, Cindy (Scott) Milne, Debbie (Jim) Black, Dixie (Vern) Lokken, Dean Schaaf; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Lawrence Stewart, Holden Stewart, Jr., and Idabelle McManus. Memorial directed to Mayo Clinic Home Health & Hospice or to any Alzheimers research organization.
