Obituary

Tamara "Tammy" J. Muszynski, of Elk Mound, Wisconsin, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, just one day after celebrating her 64th birthday.

Born on April 7, 1962, to William and Elaine (Gullickson) Muszynski, Tammy grew up with a deep love for horses that would shape much of her life. Her journey began in 4-H, where her natural talent and dedication earned her numerous trophies and ribbons in showmanship. Following her graduation from Elk Mound High School, she pursued her passion further, earning a degree in Equine Studies in Oregon, Wisconsin.

Tammy's adventurous spirit led her across the country, working as a horse trainer in Connecticut, Arizona, and North Carolina. She later returned to Wisconsin in the early 1990s, transitioning into retail accounting. Her path eventually took her to Texas, though-despite her well-known dislike of cold weather-she made her way back home to Wisconsin in 2018, settling into her father's childhood home where she remained close to the people and places she loved most.

Family meant everything to Tammy. After returning home, she rarely missed a gathering, cherishing time spent with both immediate and extended family. She also found joy in life's simple pleasures-attending horse shows and rodeos, waterskiing, traveling, and faithfully cheering on her favorite Wisconsin teams: the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers.

Tammy had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dogs. Many were adopted from the humane society, while a few-true to Tammy's generous spirit-found their way to her unexpectedly, left at the end of her driveway and welcomed without hesitation. Her loyal companions, Tala, Ginger, Toby, and Pearl, were a constant source of comfort and joy.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters: Jackie (Dave Connell) of Chippewa Falls, Sherry (Paul) Walters of Eau Claire, and Melissa (Clint) Best of Colfax; as well as her nieces and nephews, Will Muszynski, Greg Walters, Brittany (Jen) Brown, Joelle (Mohammed) Bataineh, and Rachel Walters.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 413 W. Menomonie St., Elk Mound, with Father Tim Welles officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook, with a luncheon to be served afterward at the church.
