Obituary

TENA (ELLINGSTAD) McCOY, 78, formerly of Luther Lakeside Apartments, died Thursday, December 18, 1997 at the Clairemont. She was born January 20, 1919 to Ever and Bertha (Spangrud) Ellingstad in rural Elk Mound, Dunn County. Tena moved with her family to Hixton, where she graduated from high school in 1937. As a young adult, Tena moved to California and lived there and in Nevada until returning to Eau Claire in 1983.\r\nTena is survived by two sisters, Linda Syverson of Kansas City, KS, and Emma Sorenson of Colfax; a brother, George "Gordie" Ellingstad of Chippewa Falls; three sisters-in-law, Ila Ellingstad of Eau Claire. Arvella Ellingstad of Roberts, and Daphne Ellingstad of Altoona; many nieces and nephews. \r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd McCoy; four brothers, Claude, Elmer, Sidney Sr., and Alvin Ellingstad; four sisters, Helen Sorenson, Olga Meservey, Luella Lowry, and Mabel Wisbeck.\r\nGraveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at Barum Cemetery, Township of Elk Mound, Dunn County, with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family. \r\nHer family requests memorials be directed to Northwest Wisconsin Homecare Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
