Theresa E. Westberg, 89, of Altoona, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona. Theresa was born in Thorp, WI, on October 4, 1928, a daughter of Oscar and Catherine (Heimann) Mertens. Theresa graduated from Thorp High School with the Class of 1946. Theresa married Donald E. Westberg on September 25, 1954, in St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. Theresa had worked as a telephone operator for AT&T. Theresa was a member of Telephone Pioneers, CWA Local, and PCCW at St. Olaf's Catholic Church. Theresa is survived by a son, Michael (Nathan) Westberg of Minneapolis, MN; five daughters, Elizabeth (Eugene) Kilcher of Eau Claire, Donna (Mike) Pederson of DeForest, WI, Kathy (Dan) Griepentrog of Madison, WI, Deborah (Dave) King of Milwaukee, WI, and Mary (Kirk) Erlinger of Peachtree City, GA; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (Rosalie) Mertens of Thorp, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven sisters; and four brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at St. Olaf Catholic Church, 3220 Monroe St., Eau Claire with Father Paul Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave. Eau Claire and again one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum in Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire.
