Thomas (Tom) Biesterveld, age 62, of Eau Claire passed away with family by his side on Saturday, July 2, 2016. He was born to William and Helen (Keller) Biesterveld, on September 21, 1953. Tom was a lifelong resident of Eau Claire where he married his wife Lois and raised 3 children. He was an army veteran and attended CVTC where he earned a degree in welding. Tom worked as a welder/fabricator at PDM Bridge and retired after 35 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and creating memories with his 5 grandchildren. Tom is survived by his three daughters, Angela (Jeffery) Prissel, Laurie Biesterveld and Stacy Biesterveld; grandchildren, Xavion, Andrew, Desirae, Brett and Kayden; siblings, Chris (Jack) Baier, Linda (Art) Hanold, Roger (Maryann) Biesterveld, Sally (Jim) Julson, and Rick (Mary) Biesterveld along with many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister, Bonnie Fields and brother-in-law, Herb Fields. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 2502 – 11th St, Eau Claire with Father Tom Krieg officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Ave, Eau Claire, and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
