Thomas John Boberg, 44, beloved husband, father, and son died on Wednesday, July 11, 2007. He was born February 25, 1963, the son of Yvonne Boberg and the late John R. Boberg. Tom graduated from Memorial High School, Eau Claire and served our country in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 through 1996. He was stationed in many locations throughout the United States and overseas, and was a Tactical Weather Forecaster in support of Desert Shield/ Storm.\r\nAfter honorable discharge from the Air Force in 1996, Thomas began his career in Information Technology and in most recent years worked for Menards Inc. in the positions of Manager- POS, Manager-Store Scheduling Systems, and as Senior Developer. \r\nFamily and friends will best remember Tom as a Master Hunter and Fisherman. He was happiest deep in the woods with the white-tails, or out on the Chippewa, where he landed many trophy muskie, bass, and northern. Recently, although greatly challenged by illness, Tom was able to courageously full-fill his life long wish to hunt in Africa, when he traveled with his wife to a reserve near Port Elizabeth, South Africa.\r\nTom is survived by his wife, Susan (Persky) Boberg of Eau Claire; his daughter, Kimberlyn Boberg of Fort Myers, Florida; his mother, Yvonne (Nelson) Boberg of Eau Claire; his sister, Janet Boberg of Phoenix, Arizona; his beloved dogs, Sam and Ginger; cats, Molly, Sabot, and Tiger; and many other dear family members and friends.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2015 N.Hastings Way, with Pastor Mark Gullerud officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2007, at Lenmark-Gomsrud Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue, Eau Claire.\r\nThe family suggests the following memorials: Eau Claire Rod&Gun Club Youth Programs, in Tom's name, PO Box 1572, Eau Claire, WI 54702 or UW-McCardle Lab for Cancer Research, 1400 University Ave., Madison, WI 53706.
