Obituary

Thomas G. Lienhardt, 59, of Augusta and formerly of New Auburn, Eau Claire, and Chippewa Falls died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Oak Park, IL on January 2, 1947, the son of Gustav and Marie (Leber) Lienhardt.\r\nHe grew up in Forest Park, IL until moving with his family to New Auburn in 1958.\r\nThomas graduated from New Auburn High School in 1965.\r\nHe had owned and operated Blue Water Divers on Lower Long Lake near New Auburn. Diving was a passion Tom shared with his brothers. He continued to operate the dive shop while working at the Northern Center in Chippewa Falls. Later, Tom worked over 15 years at Johnson Litho Graphic until retiring due to his health.\r\nHe was very active with the Boy Scouts throughout his life. He had been a leader for Boy Scout Troop # 37 at St. Patrick Catholic Church and helped out at Phillips Scout Reservation. Tom enjoyed teaching scouts what scouting was all about.\r\nHis children will remember him as a devoted father.\r\nTom is survived by his parents, Gustav and Marie of Augusta ; son, Jonathan Lienhardt; daughter, Annie Lienhardt; and their mother, Susan Sandas all of Eau Claire; a brother, Richard (Jennifer) Lienhardt of Augusta, WI; and three nieces, Ashley and Lindsey Lienhardt, and Anissa Thompson.\r\nHe was preceded in death by a brother, Donald.\r\nA Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in Island Lake Cemetery at Island Lake, Wisconsin at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. There will be a 7 p.m. public prayer service Friday at the funeral home.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to Chippewa Valley Council of Boy Scouts for Scouts with Disabilities, 710 S Hastings Way, Eau Claire, WI 54701\r\n \r\n
