IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas Gerald
Piercy
October 7, 1942 – December 23, 2025
Thomas Gerald Piercy, age 83, passed away Tuesday, December 23, at Mayo Clinic Health System of complications after suffering a fall at home December 20. Tom was born on October 7, 1942, to Gerald Piercy and Alice (Erpenbach) Piercy at Sacred Heart Hospital. He grew up on the west side of Eau Claire and the Shawtown area and was a 1960 graduate of Regis High School. He attended UW-Eau Claire and graduated with an Accounting degree in January 1967. Upon graduation, Tom began working as an accountant at Bertelson & Company, a local accounting firm. After a few years there, he took the position of Controller at Phoenix Steel. In the mid-90's, his career took a different path when he joined a couple other carpenters and did home remodeling. Tom retired in 2000. While in college, Tom met Alice Lisker at Bud's Bar and Grill on S. Barstow Street. They started dating and after five years of courtship they married on October 23, 1971. After five years of marriage, they welcomed twin sons, Jeffrey and John, to their family. Tom never liked to "rush in" to anything! Tom's "happy place" was either at the farm in the town of Wheaton which was originally owned by his grandparents, Henry and Mary Erpenbach, or at any tractor show or event featuring International Harvester. He and Alice traveled to many tractor shows over the years with his favorite being Red Power Round Up, the yearly national IH show where all things "Red" were presented. Tom was proud of an IH TD-6 crawler that he restored and was always looking for IH memorabilia and literature. He was a member of both the Wisconsin Chapter of IH Collectors and the National IH Collectors Club. Tom also performed his civic duty by serving as a long-time member of the Town of Wheaton Plan Commission and was the Vice-Chair for the last several years. Tom is survived by his wife, Alice, and sons Jeffrey of Sun Prairie and John of Minneapolis, sisters-in-law Barbara Stasek (Chuck) and Connie Tuschl (Ron), brother-in-law John Burke, a niece, two nephews, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Alice Piercy, sister Joan Piercy, in-laws Ernest and Irene Lisker, and aunts and uncles. Services for Tom will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. James the Greater Catholic Church with visitation in the Gathering Space at the church from 9:30am to 11:00am, followed by services at 11:00am to 12:00pm.
