Obituary

Timothy P. Anderson died after a short illness at Mayo Health Systems on June 3, 2019 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin at the age of 69. Tim was born in Minot, North Dakota to Maxine (Spaulding) and Melvin Anderson although he called Killdeer, North Dakota home. He got his bachelor's degree from Dickinson State College in 1972 and his MBA from the University of Illinois in 1982. During his time in Dickinson he worked as a DJ and later worked in Sioux Falls as the 3-7 on air announcer as well as Program Director. Tim married Janice (Henke) in Chicago in 1974. In 1976 he became Assistant General Manager of Illini Publishing Company in Champaign, Illinois. There he and Janice welcomed two sons, Matthew Evan and Christopher Aaron. His children remember him as a kind, supportive father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and was always there to give a helping hand. After leaving the world of radio, Tim followed his father's world of hardware and became a District Manager for United Hardware in Northwestern Wisconsin, moving to Eau Claire in 2002. He worked for United Hardware until his retirement in 2017. Tim was proud to learn that he was a descendant of two members of the Mayflower, William Brewster and Samuel Hopkins and another grandfather was a resident at Jamestown Colony. He enjoyed the trips he took with his wife researching and finding his roots in the Northeast. Tim was a church organist while in high school and again in the 80's during a short return to Killdeer. He was passionate about the environment, helping those who needed help and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His neighbors remember him as an advocate for all and a wise and inciteful friend. He volunteered at the L.E. Phillips Library and recently was elected a member of the Board of the Friends of the Library. He didn't entirely give up his love of radio and recently volunteered at the local PBS radio station on election nights. He loved to read, loved all kinds of music, adored his grandchildren and didn't mind when they wanted to do silly things with him or to him. He loved walking his dogs and taking time to brush his cat Nelson, who misses him greatly. Tim was lucky to be able to travel to some of the places on his Bucket List including the Scandinavian Countries, London, St. Croix, and his last trip to Switzerland. His favorite place he visited was the island of Bequia in the Grenadines during a Windjammer Barefoot Cruise. Tim is survived by Janice, his wife of 44 years, and Christopher (Kirsten), and their children Chloe Siena and Kaia Grace and Matthew (Kassi) and their children Harper Joy and Paxton Grady. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Judy Wysocki and Julie Anderson, nieces Robin and Vicki, and nephews Joshua and Philip. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Damon and brother-in-law Robert Wysocki. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the L.E. Phillips Friends of the Library or the Eau Claire County Humane
