Vera C. Caneff, 74, of Eau Claire, died Sunday, September 4th at Dove Healthcare West, Eau Claire. She was born in Ladysmith on February 25th, 1942, a daughter to Carl and Norma (Davenport) Stassel, and grew up in Sheldon, WI. Vera loved her family, building puzzles, and all animals – especially guinie pigs Vera is survived by her companion, Louis Vreeland, Eau Claire, WI; daughter, Dawn (Dennis) Ponick, Jim Falls, WI; sons, John (Saira) Caneff, Holcombe, WI, Daniel Jr (Bobbi) Caneff, Chippewa Falls, WI, John (Saira) Caneff, Holcombe, WI, Steve (Caneff), Eau Claire, WI; sisters, Sally (Mike) Lokker, Lorraine O'Leary; brother, Matt Caneff; grandchildren, Sarah (Dan) Thornton, Joshua Nesja, Chelsea (Logan) Parker, Trevor Lauer, Deanna (Zack) Mayer, Devon Caneff, Orion Caneff, Alexis Caneff, Natalie (Andrew) Chaney; and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Norma Stassel. A Celebration of Life picnic will be held in her honor at 4-6pm on Sunday, September 11th in Irvine Park, 125 Bridgewater Ave, Chippewa Falls, WI, at the Pine Grove Pavilion, across from the buffalo.
