Verdell B. Lemmage, 87, of Eau Claire, was called from this world to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX.\r\nVerdell was born in Greenwood Township near Rockford, MN, on November 5, 1923, a daughter of Herman and Lydia (Bartel) Droneck. She was the youngest of 8 children and the last living her generation.\r\nShe lived on her mother's farm as her dad died in 1925, and worked in Minneapolis for many years. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Cross Lutheran Church in Rockford, MN, by Pastor Nitz. Verdell married Darvis "Harpo" Lemmage on May 13, 1950, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rockford, MN, where she later became a member of the church.\r\nAfter their vows of everlasting love for each other, they were together for 60 years and 279 days before she passed away at 11:40 am on February 15, 2011.\r\nVerdell is survived by her husband, Darvis; three children, Patricia "Pixie" Lemmage, Jody Lemmage and Hal Lemmage, all of Eau Claire; three grandchildren, Kim and Christopher Abley, and Michael Lemmage; 2 great-grandsons, Diontrey and Zaydion Abley \r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clifford, Theodore, Roland and Herman Jr. Droneck; three sisters, Dorthea, Georgia and Myrtle. \r\nMemorial services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at 3:00 pm at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, 814 First Avenue in Eau Claire, with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the funeral home. She was cremated and her remains will be buried in the family plot at Elmwood Cemetery in Rockford, MN, at a later date.
