Verna I. Tweet-Prindle, 95, of Eau Claire, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Dove Healthcare under the care of Northwest Hospice in Eau Claire.\r\nVerna was born on July 20, 1913, in Chimney Rock, WI, the daughter of Carsten and Theresa (Melsness) Paulson. \r\nVerna married Selmer J. Tweet on July 26, 1930, in Winona, MN. He died July 18, 1957. She married Russell P. Prindle on December 19, 1959, in Lake City, MN. Russell passed away October 9, 1982.\r\nDuring the 1940's Verna worked at National Presto Industries making munitions for the military. She worked for several years at the Woolworths Store on Barstow Street in Eau Claire. \r\nVerna was a longtime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. She was a member of the L.E. Phillips Senior Center in Eau Claire. She joined a musical group, "The Kitchen Clowns". She loved being a clown with her group of friends. They traveled all around the state together to entertain nursing home residents and other various groups. In her free time, Verna loved to work crossword puzzles, and watch golf and "The Price is Right" on television while eating her Pringles.\r\nShe was also proud of her abilities as a seamstress and made all of her own blouses and slacks. She had a terrific sense of humor, which everyone enjoyed. We will miss her dearly.\r\nVerna is survived by two sons, Curtis (Nancy) Tweith of Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Vernon (Lois) Tweet of Cottage Grove, MN; and her daughter, LouAnn (Larry) Pope of Eau Claire; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great grandchildren; a sister, Diane DeMoe of Colf ax; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\nVerna was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Selmer Tweet and Russell Prindle; a brother, Lyle Paulson; and a sister-in-law, Edna Paulson. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Sahs officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Church Cemetery, Eau Claire. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home. \r\n
