Vernona M. Du Cette, 94, of Eau Claire died Sunday, November 9, 2008, at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona. She was born in Eau Claire on June 11, 1914, the daughter of William and Ida (Button) Du Cette.\r\nVernona was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire where she was active in church choir. \r\nShe worked at National Presto, Uniroyal, and many years at Eau Claire Book and Stationary until her retirement. \r\nShe enjoyed crocheting, spending time at the lake, and activities with family and friends.\r\nVernona is survived by many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, William, Joseph, Arthur, Gene, Leo and Bernie; and three sisters, Marie Kernan, Lucille Kuhnert, and infant Rosemary.\r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 322 Fulton St., Eau Claire with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at the Church.
