Vickie L. Ayres, 55, formerly of West Allis, WI, died Friday December 27, 2002 at her home in Timmonsville, SC. She was born in Eau Claire on December 25, 1947, the daughter of George and Erma (Haddeman) Ayres.\r\nVickie moved to Milwaukee with her family where she owned and operated the Riviera Tavern. She then was a waitress for many years at George Webb's restaurant, also in Milwaukee.\r\nVickie is survived by a daughter, Julie Nelson, of Eau Claire; three sons, Allen Brugger of Milwaukee, Barry Mertz Jr. of Eau Claire, Bradley (Karen) Mertz of Watertown, WI; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Becky Ayres; a brother, Gregory Ayres both of Timmonsville, SC; aunts; uncles; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents.\r\nMemorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2003 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd with Pastor John E. Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 12:30 p.m. Monday until time of services at the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.
