Obituary

Victor C. Froseth, 80, of Eau Claire died Friday, September 19, 2008, at Dove Healthcare in Eau Claire. He was born in Eau Claire on February 18, 1928, a son of Palmer and Hulda (Hultman) Froseth. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the class of 1946.\r\nVictor married Mildred "Midge" I. Kirby on December 4, 1948.\r\nHe served in the U.S Army as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne until his honorable discharge on February 9, 1948.\r\nVictor served as a union steward at Pope and Talbot Paper Co. where he worked as a paper maker until his retirement in 1991.\r\nHe was a lifetime member of First Lutheran Church, and a member of Masonic Sanctuary Lodge #347 F&M in Eau Claire.\r\nHe enjoyed traveling and spending time in the outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, and water skiing with his family. \r\nVictor is survived by Midge, his wife of 60 years; his son, Charles (Donna Theisen) Froseth of Hermantown, MN, and their two children, Scott and Elizabeth Froseth; his daughter, Vickie (Brian) Froseth-O'Meara of Minong and their four children, Caroline Enright, Jennifer (Joshua) Miller, Colin O'Meara and Amy (John) Zelenka; three great-grandchildren, Ava Zelenka, Calvin Enright, and Nissa Miller; his sister, Gloria (Robert) Williams of Eau Claire; a nephew, Dan Williams; and two nieces, Sally Holte and Julie Froseth. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marion Froseth; a grandson-in-law, Patrick Enright; and a nephew, David Williams.\r\nMemorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008, at First Lutheran Church, 1005 Oxford Ave., Eau Claire with Pastor John E. Kerr officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire with American Legion Post #53 conducting military graveside honors. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. There will be a 6:30 p.m. Masonic Service Sunday evening at the funeral home.\r\n
