Victoria A. Eldridge, 105, formerly of 2424 5th St., a lifelong resident of Eau Claire, died Thursday, September 9, 1999 at Syverson Lutheran Home. She was born on February 24, 1894 to Peter and Maren Peterson in Eau Claire. Victoria married J. Leo Eldridge in Eau Claire on October 14, 1915. She devoted her life to her family. Her friendship was enjoyed by many and her remarkable spirit as she grew older was an inspiration to all. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Wittig of Eau Claire; a daughter-in-law, Rita Eldridge of St. Paul,MN; four granddaughters, Nancy Isaacson Kerkvliet of Corvallis, OR, Catherine Wittig Skroch of Independence, Debra Davis Brisbane of Chicago,IL, and Kim Eldridge Kamen of St. Paul; four grandsons, James Leo III, Michael, David and Kenneth Eldridge, all of St. Paul, MN; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; a brother, Julius, two sisters, Byrde Hinz and Hannah Strand; a daughter, Marion Davis; a son, James Leo Jr.; and a granddaughter, Vicki Isaacson Harry.\r\nA celebration of her life will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home with Pastor Andrew Boe officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
