Vincent N. Kayser, 93, of Eau Claire died Friday, June 2, 2006, at his home.\r\nHe was born on May 3, 1913 in Independence, Iowa, the son of John P. and Anna M. (Keitges) Kayser.\r\nVincent graduated from Marquette University in 1936 and worked in Milwaukee for four years. He served with the 32nd (Red Arrow) Division in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.\r\nHe married Virginia E. Herrick on December 26, 1945 in Independence, Iowa. Virginia and Vincent moved to Eau Claire in 1945, where they raised their family. Vincent was employed with the Internal Revenue Service, retiring as Revenue Officer in 1980.\r\nVincent was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the John F. Kennedy Council #1257 Knights of Columbus.\r\nSurvivors include his daughter, Susan and her husband, Sal Polisi of Merrick, NY; his son, David and his wife, Sheila Cooke-Kayser of Danvers, MA; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nHe was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Virginia in 2001; two brothers, Raymond and Henry; and two sisters, Dorothy Parker and Lucille Scofield. \r\nMass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Eau Claire, with Father William A. Dhein officiating. Entombment with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #53 will be at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, Eau Claire. Friends and relatives may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Patrick's Parish Endowment Trust, 448 N.
