VIOLA E. KENT, 86, formerly of 1710 Laurel Ave., passed away Monday, July 20, 1998 at The Clairemont in Eau Claire. She was born on December 27, 1911 in Eau Claire to Andrew and Mathilda (Jernson) Spooner. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School with the Class of 1929. Viola married Laverne W. "Bus" Kent in Eau Claire on November 11, 1934.\r\nVi was an active and loving member of Grace Lutheran Church. She had a gift with people and cherished her many dear friends in the Rachel Circle, Friendship Club, Reading Club and Prayer Group.\r\nSurvivors include two daughters, Janet (Stan) Yocum of Spring Lake Park, MN, and Judy Olson of Eau Claire; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lyle of Naples, FL, Russell (Lorraine) of Grand Rapids,MI, and Morton (Nelsine) of Estro,FL; two sisters-in-law, Florence of California and Maddy Johnson of Chippewa Falls; and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laverne in 1984; two brothers, Allan and Robert Spooner; two sisters-in-law, Gladys and Elaine "Sis" Spooner and a son-in-law, Dick Olson.\r\nVi is lovingly remembered in our hearts as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has given us all many precious gifts and humorous memories. Vi will continue to live on in our hearts. \r\nFuneral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor Howard Fehr officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the Church. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.
