Viola M. Seem, 89, formerly of 1621 Summit St. passed Wednesday, April 17, 1996 at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home.\r\nShe was born August 13, 1906 in Eau Claire to John and Bertha (Twinde) Johnson. She was a 1924 graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School. Viola married Ervin W. Seem in Minneapolis, MN, on October 13, 1929. \r\n She worked for the City of Eau Claire Welfare Department and Eau Claire County Department of Public Welfare from 1955 until her retirement in 1971. Viola was a life long member of First Lutheran Church.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, LoAnn (Ronald) Balow of Wheaton, IL; a son, Ervin Jr. (Nona Mae Fossum) of Menomonie Falls, WI; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband Ervin in 1950; five brothers and four sisters.\r\nPrivate Funeral Services were held Saturday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home with Pastor Robert E. Esse of First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Lutheran Church Cemetery.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to First Lutheran Church or the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home.
