Virgelee E. LeDue, 82, of Eau Claire, died on Saturday, April 29, 2006, in Eau Claire. She was born in Jackson County, Wisconsin on January 29, 1924, the daughter of Emil and Anna (Haas) Watenpuhl. Virgelee married Elwood LeDue in 1948 in Stillwater, MN.\r\nShe worked 30 years as an educator in secondary education, retiring from North High School in Eau Claire.\r\nHer interests included music, theatre and dog care. Virgelee will be greatly missed by all her canine friends that she took care of.\r\nSurvivors include her sister-in-law, Jeanette L. Watenpuhl of Neillsville; four nieces, Marilyn (Jeffrey) Sigler of Wisconsin Rapids, Barbara (Daniel) Sours of Chippewa Falls, Rhonda (Robert) Neuendorf and Linda (John) Steinhause both of West Allis; two nephews. Randall (Karen) Watenpuhl of Sarasota, FL and Andrew (Kathy) Watenpuhl of town of Vernon, WI; 17 great nieces and nephews; and several great-great nieces and nephews.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents; husband Elwood in 1987; two brothers, Arvid A. Watenpuhl and Harlen H. Watenpuhl, and sister-in-law, Shirley (Zimmerman) Watenpuhl.\r\nFuneral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Rolf A. Nestingen and Chaplain Susan Ripp officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.\r\nFamily requests memorials be directed to any county humane society including the Eau Claire Humane Society, 3900 Old Town Hall Road, Eau Claire,WI 54701, American Diabetes Assoc. of WI, 2323 N.
