Virginia "Ginny" C. Rohlfs, age 90, of Eau Claire, WI, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Dove Healthcare Center West in Eau Claire. Ginny was born on May 17, 1926, in Eau Claire, WI, to Karl and Eva (Radtke) Walker. She was a graduate of Eau Claire High School, class of 1944. She was a devoted member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and then Peace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Ginny loved people and had many jobs over the years working with the public. She worked for Eau Claire Book and Stationary as a bookkeeper, the Farmer's Store in the meat department, McDonalds, Luther Hospital in Central Supply and Coffee Shop, and her favorite, working at Culvers, which she did until she was 80 years old. She was involved in the quilting group and sewing club. Ginny loved to play cards so a card club was a must. She was in Ladies Aid, was a Campfire Leader and Boy Scout Leader. Ginny loved spending time with her family and friends. The joy of her life was spoiling her grandchildren. She always had a sense of humor; loved to bake several kinds of Christmas cookies with her family and shared them with the people she loved. Ginny is survived by one daughter, Mary (Mel) Blomquist of Eau Claire; one brother, Lawrence (Twila) Walker of Eau Claire; two sisters, Barbara Feirn of Eau Claire and Jane (Bryan) Schwark of Platteville; grandchildren, Scott (Sandy) Blomquist of Columbus, WI, Michelle (Jake) Hrudka of Eau Claire, Brooke Marie of Wausau, and Kelly of Eau Claire; four great grandchildren, London and Annika Hrudka and Sierra and Sawyer Blomquist; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ginny was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Rohlfs; granddaughter, Mandy; special friend, June Gunnes; and brothers & sisters-in-law, John and Viola Qualheim and Peter and Doris Rohlfs. A Funeral Service will take place at Noon, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 E. Fillmore Ave, Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until Noon at the church. Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
