Virginia Y. Jacobson, 85, of Eau Claire, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire. She was born in Eau Claire on December 23, 1927, a daughter of Harvey and Elsie (Kriesel) Rickard. Virginia married Vernon M. Jacobson on May 17, 1947, in Eau Claire. She was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church. Virginia loved to play cards, especially bridge and cribbage, and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. Virginia is survived by three children, Vicki (Richard) Dennis of Cynthiana, KY, Verne (Sandy) Jacobson of Wallace, NC, and Voni (Jim) Jacobson Boyer of Cottage Grove, MN; eight grandchildren, Mary (Tait) Strand, Stephanie Dennis, Jeremy, Heather and Christopher Jacobson, and Kyle, Karner and Kiara Boyer; two great-grandchildren, Nikolaus and Joseph Strand; nieces, nephews, other relatives, special neighbors, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Beverly Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Grace Lutheran Church, 202 W. Grand Ave. in Eau Claire, with Pastor Rolf A. Nestigen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in the Town of Washington. Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral & Cremation Services is serving her family.
