Virginia "Ginger" L. Raven, 72, of Eau Claire, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.\r\nShe was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on December 30, 1936, a daughter of James and Violet (Thom) Buchanan.\r\nGinger moved with her family to Aberdeen, SD, where she graduated from Central High School with the class of 1954. Her family then moved to Eau Claire in 1954.\r\nShe worked as the Activity Director for Brotoloc Health Care in Eau Claire, and retired in 2007.\r\nGinger was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.\r\nGinger is survived by her three sons, Tony Buchanan of Lawrenceville, GA, James (Bambi) Raven and Brad Raven both of Eau Claire; her daughter, Rebecca Raven of Lawrenceville, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Paul (Jessica), Gina, Melanie and Philip Buchanan, Bryan (Aarikka), Jakob, Jack Raven, and Vance Raven; six great grandchildren, Caden, Cory and Nathan Buchanan, Bryanna Shackelton, Chloe and Jacey Raven; two sisters, Sherry (Jim) Jones of Eau Claire and Elaine (Alan) Dahme of Thornton, CO; her uncle, Leonard Thom of Scandia, MN, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her parents. \r\nGraveside Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2009, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire located at Emery St. and Huebsch Blvd, with Pastor Aaron Mueller officiating.
