Obituary

VIVIAN D. GARNETT, died Friday, April 2, 1999 at Dove Health Care Center at the age of 84. Prior to residing at Dove, she lived five years at Potter's Country Home in rural Menomonie. Vivian was born May 15, 1914 to Engebret and Thea (Lund) Sandvig in Meridean,WI. She lived in the Meridean area until age eleven when her family moved to Eau Claire where she graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School. Vivian married Neil Garnett on November 30, 1940 at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church and they resided in Eau Claire. She worked ten years at Gillett-Uniroyal Tire Co. and then stayed home to raise her children. She was a longtime member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church where she had been active in Ladies Aid.\r\nSurvivors include a daughter, Jean (Tom) Baskin and grandson, Scott Baskin both of Menomonie; a brother, Vermont (Ethel) Sandvig; two sister-in-laws, Helen Sandvig and Gladys (Adolph) Lessard all of Eau Claire; and a brother-in-law, Howard Britten of Kenosha.\r\nShe was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 1966; two sons, Keith and Roger; a brother, Vernon Sandvig; and two sisters, Violet Bradshaw-Biles and Veryl Britten.\r\nFuneral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3715 London Road with Pastor Frederick W. Theiste officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Family requests memorials be directed to the church. Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home is serving the family.
